About

Hi! My name is Emma Spears, and I am finishing up my girl scout career! I’ve been apart of the Sierra Nevada girl scouts since I was in 1st grade and I have learned so many life skills, and made life long friends through girl scouts. I have completed my bronze and silver awards, so now I’m finishing up my gold with my Felting for Families community service project!

Mission

My gold award project “Felting For Families” is my way of using my passion for creativity, and using it to help my community.

Being hospitalized, or having a family member who is hospitalized, can be a stressful time for anyone. This stress can lead to feelings of distance, or sadness.

So, as a way to lift spirits and boost morale, I have created this project to let kids, adults, parents, siblings, or anyone else, experiencing hospital stress, let loose, and have fun learning a new skill! Needle felting can be a great way to de-stress or to pass the time, so if you, or someone you know might benefit from one of the Felting for Family kits, I encourage you to take part!
